Fashion, Innovation, and Responsibility: Fashinnovation 2024

Posted by Ely Mata on

Living in New York City has its perks—especially as the founder of BINIBINI New York. The city is a hub of inspiration and innovation, which means I get to attend events like Fashinnovation’s Worldwide Talks 2024, one of the biggest fashion and innovation events in the world, held at the iconic Starrett-Lehigh Building. And the best part? I didn’t have to travel far—New York brings the world to me.

Fashinnovation 2024 was more than just an industry event; it was a gathering of minds and brands dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fashion for the better. Sustainability, inclusion, and responsibility were at the heart of every discussion, values that resonate deeply with me, not only as a person but also as the driving force behind BINIBINI New York.

BINIBINI New York was born out of a desire to create handbags that blend style, functionality, and ethical responsibility. We aren’t just about making bags—we’re about making a difference. This commitment is reflected in everything we do, from sourcing sustainable materials to working with manufacturers that prioritize fair labor practices. Attending events like Fashinnovation is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do—it’s about being part of a larger movement toward a more conscious fashion industry.

One of the standout sessions at the event was "Fashion is Traceability," featuring Tapestry, the parent company behind Coach, Stuart Weitzman, and Kate Spade New York. The discussion highlighted the importance of transparency in the supply chain, a core principle we champion at BINIBINI. Knowing where our materials come from and ensuring that every step of the process upholds our values is non-negotiable for us.

Another thought-provoking session was centered on "Fashion is Inclusion & Responsibility." At BINIBINI, we believe fashion should be for everyone, and we strive to reflect that in our designs and business practices. Inclusivity isn’t just about size or style; it’s about making sure our brand stands for something bigger than just products on a shelf. We’re committed to contributing to a fashion landscape that is diverse, accessible, and rooted in responsibility.

One of the panelists mentioned something that really resonated with me: what you wear every day can have a powerful influence on how you feel about yourself. This idea aligns perfectly with the philosophy behind BINIBINI New York. We create handbags that are not only stylish and functional but also empower people to feel confident and strong. After all, fashion is more than just clothing—it’s a reflection of how you present yourself to the world.

As I walked out of the Starrett-Lehigh Building, I felt more motivated than ever to continue our mission at BINIBINI New York: creating timeless, purposeful handbags that not only look good but do good. Because for us, fashion isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about how it makes you feel.
